Registrations Required

1. Shop & Establishment registration. 
2. GST Registration – Generally required if annual turnover exceeds Rs. 40 lakhs (Rs. 10 lakh in NE and hill states). 
3. The license of the sectoral regulator in some cases. For example FSSAI License in case of food business and Drug License in the case of the pharmaceutical business.
4. MSME/ Udyam registration - optional. 

Applicable Compliances

1. Annual Income Tax Return is required to be filed annually.
2. GST returns are required to be filed monthly or quarterly (as applicable) if the business is GST Registered.
3. TDS / TCS returns (if applicable). 
4. Other compliances may be required to be done if the business is regulated by any sectoral regulator/department.
